Is there any chance that this will work in Linux ? When I select the path to the OGG files, the program tells me not to select "protected path". I have directories with ogg files in my home directory and they have no special permissions.

I tried to support Linux, but the way Linux handles paths made it impossible. I'd have to make a version just for Linux users, and unfortunately, there just isn't enough of a demand to justify the work.

I was hoping to make a "V11 Only" version that creates voices you can share as easily as sharing any other Addon, but that will require significant modification of how V11 indexes voices.

If you install V11 to Windows and run your Windows copy of V11 from Linux (as I do), you can install voicesets from Windows and they'll work in Linux.

Thanks for your reply Oyster, but I haven't owned windows for years ;) In VX it was the same, only in the old 7.5 there was no problem, I just uploaded the txx file and it worked.

You can install a voiceset compiled by another user on your computer. And as long as there isn't an ID conflict, it'll work. But users should not share compiled voices this way because of this potential conflict.

I haven't checked, but if you installed V11 locally using Wine, there is a good chance Installing Voiceset Installer 5.0 locally should work too. All it needs are the proper paths (starting with a drive letter.)

I'll run some tests when I get a chance.

FOLLOW UP: Okay, I checked and my app doesn't install b/c it starts out looking for a default Windows path that Wine doesn't create.

I'll see if I can't accommodate Linux users in an update. In the meantime, try creating the folder path by hand specified by the error during installation.

Doesn't. Work.

Keeps saying it "can't find the files specified".
